The clinical Bio Chemistry Department is working round the clock and offers all routine investigations as well as Special tests like Tumor Markers, Electrophoresis and MTX drug assays.
The Clinical Bio chemistry department is having 14 permanent staff members with One Ph.D. , 3 Post graduate Scientific Assistants, 3 graduate technicians and 7 Technicians.
The clinical Bio Chemistry Department is working round the clock and offers all routine investigations as well as Special tests like Tumor Markers, Electrophoresis and MTX drug assays. On an average of 370 samples processed per day and more than 3000-3500 tests Performed every day with around 45 different parameters.
Renal function tests, Liver function tests, Electrolytes, Mg, LDH, Uric acid, Coagulation Profiles, fibrinogen etc.
Beta HcG, AFP,CEA,CA125,CA19-9, PSA, Thyroid profiles like FT3, FT4, TSH, Thyroglobulin and Anti Thyroglobulins.
Special Tests like Lipid profiles,Cardiac marker CK, CK-MB, Troppnin-I, Immunoglobulin levels and Beta-2- microglobulins, Iron,IBC and Ferritin, In 24 hrs.urine Creatinine clearance, proteins, BJP,VMA, HIAA,Meta Nephrine. All these test results are very important in diagnosis, treatment and in the follow up of the cancer patients.

To improve lab. standard and for the accuracy of the reports the department is running internal quality control L1 and LII levels daily and participating international EQAS monthly Program with Bio-Rad company for the past 15 years.
We are giving 2 weeks internship training for Ist year M.Sc. students and B.Tech. students from out side institutions regularly. In the last two years this training was given to 25 M.Sc. students and 45 B.Tech. (Bio-Tech) students. Every year B.Sc.Bio Chemistry graduate students and DMLT students from various institutions visiting our department regularly as observers. Every year we are conducting CME program regularly for the past 12 years and so far 11 CME programs and 1 workshop conducted with invited speakers from both national and international level Our department staff members are also attending other institutes work Shops, Conferences, CME programs and other academic activities regularly.
