The Cancer Institute (W.I.A), Adyar, Chennai, was empanelled under CMCHIS in the year 2011 and has been providing the state of art cancer directed treatment care and services to the needy patients with any cancer who are eligible for registration under this scheme.
Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS ) – Tamil Nadu
The Cancer Institute (W.I.A), Adyar, Chennai, was empanelled under CMCHIS in the year 2011 and has been providing the state of art cancer directed treatment care and services to the needy patients with any cancer who are eligible for registration under this scheme.
The CMCHIS scheme is open for families whose total annual family income is less than INR 1,20,000 (One lakh twenty thousand only). The patients are enrolled as per the norms laid down by the Tamil Nadu Government. The patients either already have or obtain the CMCHIS card by furnishing the income certificate and other documents for scrutiny. This is finally validated by our Assessment Committee before registration under the scheme
On an average 7000 patients are availing all cancer directed treatment under CMCHIS-TN scheme at our institute every year!
Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY)
We also cater to the Government of India’s forerunner scheme called Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), a mega National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) for the underprivileged people. It provides cashless and paperless cancer directed treatment with health insurance coverage up to 5 lakh rupees per family per year.

Tamil Nadu New Health Insurance Scheme (TNNHIS) – The institute is empanelled for this scheme. It covers TN State Government employees who have been issued an identity card by insurance company. The TNNHIS scheme is renewed every 4 years based on a MoU signed between the Cancer Institute (W.I.A) and the insurance providers.
The institute is also empanelled with following prestigious organizations such as the Indian Cancer Society, Southern Railway, Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) ,Satish Dhawan Space Centre Sriharikota SDSC-SHAR, etc. These organizations have chosen the institute as their exclusive healthcare partner for all cancer directed treatment covering the employees and their families.
