The Cancer Institute (WIA), Chennai, is continuing to provide opportunities for voluntary service in the hospital by interested persons from all walks of life. The services are being rendered in different capacities on a full-time and part-time basis ranging from patient-related to non-patient related activities. The activities include general assistance to patients in different counters like reception, registration, outpatient, cash, inpatient and follow up services; collection and ordering of investigation reports; data collection, data entry, assisting in contacting the treated patients not reporting to hospital for follow up by letter writing or telephone enquiry to know the current health status, etc.
