Dr. E. Hemanth Raj
Dr.E. Hemanth Raj is currently the Executive Vice Chairman, Cancer Institute (WIA),Adyar, Chennai. He graduated (MBBS) from Stanley Medical College in 1978 and later did his M.S (General Surgery) in 1984, M.Ch (Surgical Oncology) in Cancer Institute (WIA) in 1987 and his Ph.D in the University of Madras in the year 1996 (Topic -Locally advanced breast Cancer and certain prognostic factors) He underwent Training in Medical applications of Laser in Munich, Germany in 1985.
He was an active member of WHO Fellowship on Cancer Control at many centers in Europe, North America and Hong Kong in the year 1988 and UICC Fellowship on Gastric Cancer in Japan in 1991. He previously worked as a Senior Consultant-Surgical Oncology, Apollo Specialty Hospital and Southern Railway H.Q .Hospital, Chennai.
He is an Adjunct Professor in the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai. He was the Past President of the Indian Society of Oncology; and the Past President of The Indian Association of Surgical Oncology. His Lifetime Achievement Award from Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University, Chennai is commendable. He has 21publications and four book chapters and nine presentations in International Conferences accredited to his name.
