CLINICAL RESEARCH
This department was established to facilitate the clinical research activities that are conducted by the various clinical departments like Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Anaesthesia, Palliative Medicine etc. The unit constitutes state of the art infrastructure that includes 8 bedded clinical trial ward, conference room, research pharmacy, archival room, research coordinator work space, consenting room etc. Both investigator initiated and regulatory pharmaceutical trials are being conducted in this facility. The unit is equipped with various equipments like refrigerators and deep freezers for the storage of study drugs and all biological samples. The unit is equipped to handle all phases of drug trials. Our Institute is also been recognised by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India as one of eminent centres in Oncology and has given funding under the BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council) for the development of the clinical research unit. This unit strictly follows the good clinical practice and various other mandated guidelines for clinical research issued by the government of India. The Clinical Research Unit/ Clinical Trials services unit is administrated by the Clinical Trials Steering Committee.
CTSU supports the following types of trials:
- Investigator-initiated trials
- Single centre trials proposed
- Multicentre investigator-initiated studies
- Regulatory Pharmaceutical trials.
- Government Funded Projects from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Health Research-DHR, Department of Biotechnology.
